He is currently a student at Claremont School of Theology in the joint Master of Divinity and Master of Arts (MDiv/MA) program with an emphasis in theology. Wesley thinks of himself as a “Theology Pirate” because [fictional] pirates are cool, and just as they sail the sea looking for adventure and treasure, so does Wesley look for insights on being a a person of faith as journeys toward being a pastor.
Wesley is a professional youth minister and has served for over eight years in Lutheran congregations. He also taught Spanish for six years of those years to elementary school students. He holds a Certificate of Youth Ministry from Wartburg Theological Seminary (2005).
Wesley is a husband to Sheri Menke, his wife, and a father to Rebecca and Charles, their two children. In the fall of 2012 the Menke family will embark on an adventure called, “The Lutheran Year.” During this year Wesley will attend Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary and be immersed in studying all things Lutheran including history, doctrine, theology, and church polity.
