Gilchrist House

Tonight is a special night.  Once a month the ladies of Gilchrist House in San Clemente are gracious enough to open their home to our church.  About five or six of us will cook dinner and bring it over.  Together we will break bread together, and also share the Word with one another.  I’d like to give a shout out to the LaClair family for cooking and to Logan and Colby for volunteering to help.

I am particularly looking forward to our Bible study.  It comes from the book of Mark, chapter 7 the story of the Syrophoenician Woman’s Faith.  I got this Bible Study from the Women of the ELCA.  What a great organization!  Here is a link to the Bible Study, I highly recommend it for any small group.  I hope that it is relevant to our context tonight which will be  collection of people from very different social locations: teenage youth, adult church members, and women who are in transition with their housing.  I am looking forward to learning tonight.  I always do when I visit the Gilchrist House.
